THE LOCATION
The Clarion-Clipperton Zone.
American Metal aims to source seafloor polymetallic nodules from within the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, a vast region off the coast of North America.
The U.S. Geological Survey estimates that approximately 21.1 billion dry tons of polymetallic nodules exist across this region.

ON THE DEEP SEAFLOOR

One Resource. Four Critical Metals.
Resting loose on or just beneath the seafloor, polymetallic nodules contain copper, nickel, cobalt and manganese, metals critical to modern industry, infrastructure and national security.
“For the United States, responsible seabed mineral development is a strategic national security and economic priority. Global demand for critical minerals is rising rapidly, and diversified supply chains are necessary for geopolitical and economic stability... It is prudent that we acknowledge that ocean resources can meet this demand with impacts significantly lower than many land-based alternatives.”
- U.S. Department of State, statement to the International Seabed Authority, July 2026

CAPABILITY
A U.S. processing platform for polymetallic nodules.
American Metal’s capabilities span the full value chain, from deep-sea exploration and offshore collection to proprietary mineral processing and the development of U.S. processing infrastructure.
01
A proprietary process for optimal extraction
American Metal’s proprietary selective-leach process, ‘The AMI Process’, is covered by a pending U.S. patent application and designed to produce four critical-mineral products:
✔ High-purity nickel sulfate for battery manufacturing.
✔ Copper for data centers, electrification and renewable energy infrastructure.
✔ High-purity cobalt sulfate for battery manufacturing.
✔ Manganese products for the U.S. steel industry
During an independent technical review, international consultants SLR Mining Advisory Services (“SLR”) concluded that the AMI Process is capable of achieving very high recovery rates and, compared with conventional processing routes, is likely to reduce: sulfuric acid consumption, downstream hydraulic loads, and projected operating costs

U.S. industry.
American Metal is advancing the design of a U.S. facility that would apply the AMI Process to polymetallic nodules, helping establish a new domestic source of nickel, copper, cobalt and manganese products.
American Metal has engaged Bechtel Mining & Metals Inc. to assess potential U.S. sites for a facility that would process seafloor polymetallic nodules into strategic metals. Bechtel is part of one of the world’s leading engineering, construction and project management groups.

STEWARDSHIP
A science-led approach to responsible exploration.
The Clarion-Clipperton Zone is already the subject of an extensive body of scientific research. American Metal intends to build on that foundation through, contributing new data to the wider understanding of the deep seabed.
Unlike many terrestrial mining operations, nodule collection does not require forest clearance, open-pit excavation or the removal of overburden. It does, however, interact with deep-sea ecosystems. American Metal therefore intends to proceed through regulatory review and staged decision making, adapting its methods, sequence and scope as the evidence develops
