With world-leading deep-sea mineral expertise, American Metal Inc. is looking to source these critical minerals from seafloor polymetallic nodules, which are rich in Nickel, Copper, Cobalt and Manganese; metals critical for Green Energy Technologies.

With limited critical mineral resources on land in the U.S., and as terrestrial mineral deposits are depleted and ore grades decline across the world, the need to explore offshore minerals becomes increasingly important. Essential minerals like nickel, copper, cobalt, manganese and REEs, found in seafloor polymetallic nodules, serve as fundamental building blocks for society.
Immediate measures are being taken to increase American mineral production to address the U.S. critical mineral shortage. Realistically, developing mines on land takes many years to build infrastructure and remove overburden. In contrast, Polymetallic Nodules lie loose on the seafloor surface and can be brought into production almost immediately, as there is no overburden to remove through cutting and blasting, and no need to sink mine shafts and build related mine site infrastructure.
Coupled with the fact that Polymetallic Nodules contain many critical minerals in the one orebody, they are the perfect solution to meeting America’s critical mineral needs.
