Deep Sea Critical Minerals
Securing critical minerals for the United States
OUR MISSION
American Metal Inc. aims to provide a dependable and environmentally responsible supply of critical minerals to the United States, supporting clean-energy innovation, domestic manufacturing strength, and national security.
As the world transitions away from fossil fuels, demand for metals is increasing to build clean-energy technologies, including electric vehicles, solar panels, and wind turbines.
Leveraging world-class expertise in deep-sea mineral development, American Metal aims to responsibly source these critical minerals from seafloor polymetallic nodules — a high-grade resource containing nickel, copper, cobalt, and manganese needed to support the U.S. clean-energy supply chain.

OUR MISSION
Unlocking Critical Minerals for the U.S.
As terrestrial mineral deposits are depleted and ore grades decline on land, the need to explore alternative sources — including offshore mineral resources — is becoming increasingly important. This trend is compounded by mounting pressure on land-based ecosystems, particularly in environmentally sensitive regions such as tropical rainforests, where many nickel laterite deposits occur.
Polymetallic nodules found on the seafloor contain essential minerals — including nickel, copper, cobalt, and manganese — that are fundamental to modern society.
Although the United States is working to expand its critical mineral supply, developing conventional land-based mines can take many years due to significant infrastructure requirements and the need to remove overburden. In contrast, polymetallic nodules rest unattached on the seafloor surface, enabling the potential for more rapid production without the need for blasting, excavation, deep shafts, or large-scale permanent mine-site infrastructure.
By offering several key minerals in a single source, polymetallic nodules present a promising pathway to meeting America’s critical mineral needs responsibly and efficiently.
